Location
This hotel affords a superb central location at the heart of Reykjavík, within a few paces of the city’s shopping street and just a short walk from the harbour. Lying directly beside the seashore, it is also just a stone’s throw to an array of restaurants, bars, pubs, nightclubs and links to the local bus network.

Renovated in 2006, this hotel comprises a total of 121 rooms. Amongst the facilities count a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, a currency exchange desk, a lift, a car hire service and a flight reservation service in addition to a breakfast room, Internet access and a launderette. The unique Korean BBQ restaurant, Galbi, is open for dinner and very popular amongst business groups. Parking is available to those arriving by car.
Rooms
Each of the rooms features an en suite bathroom with a hairdryer, a TV, a telephone, a radio, a hi-fi stereo system and a double bed. The accommodation units are ideal for tourists, families, longer-term rentals and business travellers. A total of 21 nice, cosy economy rooms of 16 m² - 18 m² are available beneath the roof (skylight windows). Moreover, 66 standard rooms of 18 m² - 22 m² were built in 2002 and come with wireless Internet access and beautiful views out over the city or sea. Business guests may take advantage of the 3 business suites that feature a bedroom and a conference lounge. There are additionally 31 studios and apartments with 1 or 2 bedrooms and cooking facilities. The heating is controlled centrally.

Breakfast may be selected from an ample buffet; the evening meal may be taken à la carte. A bed and breakfast only stay may be booked.

How to get there
Head along road number 40 to Reykjavík, through the towns of Hafnarfjördur, Gardabær and Kópavogur. Road number 40 is well marked and is called Kringlumýrarbraut in Reykjavík. Drive over the major crossroads between Kringlumýrarbraut and Miklabraut, then take the 2nd left onto Laugarvegur. Drive along Laugarvegur and cross over the lights on passing a large bus station. Take the first right (Barónstígur) where the hotel is located, continuing along that road until the hotel comes into sight on the left-hand side.
