Relais Maresca (Capri, Italy)

Relais Maresca enjoys a delightful position directly on the edge of the sea at Marina Grande - just a short walk from the beach - and is the only hotel in Capri situated in front of the bustling harbour. This boutique hotel is one of the most ancient structures on the island of Capri and was beautifully restored and renovated in traditional Capri style in 2000. The light and airy public areas - reception - bar and two lounges - have terracotta and beautifully coloured tiles on the floor and are decorated with charming blue and white furniture and sunny Vietri ceramics. The 27 rooms - most of which have enchanting views of the sea - are clean - bright and charming. The top floor provides fabulous views of the Gulf of Naples - where the blue of the Capri sky blends with the azure sea - and these can be enjoyed by guests as they have breakfast in the breakfast room or outside on the terrace. The Roof Garden and Solarium are furnished with small cane tables and chairs and a sundeck where guests can relax - sunbathe and maybe enjoy a drink. Visitors wishing to explore the island further can reach the centre of Capri easily via the cablecar located a few steps from the hotel. This is one of the best four star hotels on the island and well worth a visit for people who wish to discover Capri from the sea.
