Hotel Villa Margherita (Sant Agnello, Italy)

Hotel Villa Margherita is a gorgeous residence set in an old Liberty style villa dating from the turn of the 19th century. Its pleasant architecture is enhanced by the elegant portico and wrought iron balconies with original decorative motifs and the hotel enjoys a marvellous setting in its own shady garden full of typical Mediterranean plants. This is a wonderful place to relax with a drink or a light snack from the hotel bar and be entertained by music in the evenings. Set in a quiet residential street in Sant Agnello- the Villa is only 10 minutes from the historic centre of Sorrento and 50 metres from the sea. This area was once home to many poets and artists and a rich cultural atmosphere prevails. Summer evenings are full of literary meetings and concerts performed in the beautiful setting of the cloister of San Francesco.Villa Margherita has recently been renovated to offer guests maximum comfort. Guests are welcomed onto the sunny veranda with a beautiful majolica floor. The reception and hall are decorated in Sorrentine style- enhanced by colorful ceramics and wicker furniture. Sorrentine style is also present in the simple and elegant Mediterranean décor of each of the 24 comfortable rooms- where natural or light lacquered woods co-ordinate with the blues of the ceramics and fabrics. The rooms are bright and enjoy a beautiful view of the gardens- many have terrazzinos furnished with beach chairs that are perfect to relax in while taking in the year round pleasant weather that has made Sorrento a favorite of international tourism.
