The Diplomat Hotel (Sliema, Malta) 
The Diplomat, situated in the heart of Sliema, has a superb sea front position on the prestigious promenade, with facilities for every modern convenience to the business and leisure traveller alike. There is an excellent rock bathing beach providing swimming and a private beach within walking distance. It is well located close to the shops, bars and restaurants, and just a short stroll away is the Dragonara Casino, Super Bowl, Imax Theatre and other entertainment centres. The main bus route to the capital Valletta and St. Julian's runs just outside the hotel. The twin bedded oak-furnished rooms all have a side sea-view balcony and some have a front sea-view. Fitted carpets, orthopaedic mattresses, black-out curtains, air-conditioned (hot or cold), and computer modem points are all standard features in the rooms (most rooms have Wi-Fi internet access). All rooms have an ensuite bathroom with bath and shower, a telephone and a hairdryer. The entire first floor is reserved for non-smoking guests. The hotel's general facilities include a rooftop swimming pool with whirlpool, sun terrace and pool bar overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The lobby bar serves hot and cold light meals and snacks. The pub is open from November to March every evening till the early hours. The Penny Farthing restaurant offers an extensive hot and cold buffet breakfast and a buffet/carvery dinner. A health centre and sauna, games room and a business centre are also available. Open from May until October, the hotel’s private beach concession is situated within walking distance at Surfside Club. A bar and restaurant is also available on the premises at a charge. Entrance is free and includes use of the sun beds, parasols and the showers (towels provided at a minimal charge). There is direct access to the sea edge.
